At Christmas my Aunt Jo always made Olive Nut Sandwiches. They were one of my favorites.

Olive Nut Sandwiches

"You can also add softened cream cheese to the mayonnaise mixture. Mother (Sadie Cole) just used mayonnaise. This is a traditional Christmas Eve food." JoAnn

Pecans      Green olives

Mayonnaise      Sandwich Bread

Procedure

1   In a large bowl, chop or grind equal parts pecans and green olives.

2   Add mayonnaise to spreading consistency.

3   Butter slices of bread.

4   Spread olive nut mixture on bread.

5   Cut off all the crusts.

6   Cut in half.
