Master Mason Degree

It takes a goodly number of Brothers to fill all of the parts for a Master Mason Degree. The Degree consists of three parts and the first part is very much like the other two degrees that precede it. The second section of the Third Degree takes about 18 men and it is essentially a play which is put on with the candidate as the main character. The picture above is Right Worshipful Brother Bill Yungclas who took the part of the Master. I took the picture because I was very impressed with his sartorial splendor. He must have visited the haberdasher to find that hat.

The degree teaches many valuable lessons and each time I see it I see something else that seems new or different. It may be just a little different "twist" that one of the players puts on the dialogue that opens up a different meaning or just that I was listening differently.

Tonight the Brotherhood was out in force to welcome Brother Alan as he received his Master Mason Degree. He will be a real asset to Arcadia Lodge.
We also had Brothers from Nevada and Sioux City, The Brother from Sioux City is attending Iowa State University as a graduate student. He and I have a lot of friends in common. I hope he will be able to be with us a lot. In order for him to visit us we had to examine him because no one from here had ever sat in Lodge with him. From now on he will not have to be examined as we all now have sat in open lodge with him.

Masonry is a great fraternity. We are not just a "Social Fraternity" as the college fraternities are but rather a place to exemplify the Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of God and work to improve ourselves in our relations with each other and all mankind. It was a great evening. Thanks for stopping by. ARTYAL. Hugs, j
