Good Morning

Bob adds this photo to yesterday' and I thought you might be interested to see that Iowa is not all flat. Bob was up very early this morning helping with grandson Charlie so I got a rather long e-mail from him. In part of it he writes about today's (and yesterday's photos) - He writes about them

Thanks for putting the aerials and the hollyhocks up...they look great. The view of Iowa from one mile up is always lovely, especially on a clear and sunny day. I did some calculations on the the shot of "Recovering Iowa Fields" that showed the water still in the farm land, and decided that image encompassed about 20-25 square miles all in one shot, and that is a WIDE angle. There is one shot I had not yet sent to you that is enclosed here, which shows very plainly the construction on the new high bridge, next to the old Kate Shelley Bridge, as seen from the north side. What I have heard is that they will leave both bridges there, as it is too expensive to tear the old one down! None the less it is an impressive view to look out and see that structure stretched across the mile wide valley of the Des Moines River. I had never taken multiple shots of a wide scene from an airplane, and tried to stitch them together, but it worked
