The Definition of Sated

The sun was setting as Kurt and I took off for Cedar Rapids for the 2nd Occcasionla Table Council which was held in the Cedar Rapids Masonic Temple.
Kurt I met each other through Masonry. He and his wife and two kids live in Des Moines so he drove up to ride over with me to attend the meeting. He is one of my best friends and together we helped start the new Specialis Procer Lodge U. D. here in Iowa. That in itself has been an exciting adventure. He is the first person in our Valley to complete the Scottish Rite Master Craftsman Program from the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (Southern Jurisdiction) of Freemasonry and is the future of our Fraternity.
The First Occasional Table Council was held two or three years ago and here it was again and it promised to be an interesting evening. Past Grand Master Mosier (Junior Past Grand Master) was the moving force behind the Table Council and he and his wife did most of the meal preparation. His wife, daughter and son-in-law, together with some other "volunteers" (in Freemasonry we are all volunteers) were in the kitchen and searved the delicious meal.
You can see the entire meal (except for the fruit and cheese plate) in the On-line Photo Album which is uploading as I write, but this was the main course. Each course was accompanied by the appropriate wine (Yes we can have wine at our meals in Iowa) and the usual Masonic toasts.
Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons Jack Butler presented Kurt with his Ashlar Award Shirt which he had earned and his talk and this presentation was the highlight of the evening.
When the meal was over I knew physically the definition of the word sated. As my Aunt Ellen used to say my sufficiency was safatisfied. (You really had to hear her say it). We had a very nice post meeting visit with many Companions. Made some new friends and all in all had a perfectly marvelous time. I can't wait til the next one and hopefully I can convince some other Companions to go over. Might as well have four Masons ride along as two of us.
