Keith Says "This is about the human heart!"

I have been following the passage of Prop 8 in California. I think this is the best statement I have heard about it. Also here is the mayor of San Diego explaining why he had changed his opinion on Prop 8.

Prop 8 did nothing except to take away one of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution. The part where it says ""Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness " It is one of the most famous phrases in the United States Declaration of Independence. These three aspects are listed among the "inalienable rights" of man.

I personally don't see how marriage brings people happiness but the right to pursue happiness as a committed loving family should be (and probably is) guaranteed by the US Constitution.

Anyway I think it is just wrong for the religious wrong to use this to divide and scare people. Just as I think it was wrong for the Mormon Church and the Knights of Columbus to have pumped so much money into it. Whatever happened to the separation of Church and State? Perhaps Senator Grassley they need investigation of their tax-exempt status for in meddling in politics. Same sex marriages (no different name) should be allowed and as I said Keith says it best. He always does.

Keith's finest hour. (i keep using that same comment everywhere... it just works.)

You know where I was this weekend and why- church people denying other people their rights is just so wrong!

When two people love each other, what difference does it make what orientation they are. They are willing to make a commitment to each other and NOBODY should be able to tell them NO. We should celebrate that they found each other. I envy them finding someone they can spend the rest of their life with.
