Poor Bailey, He seems to have a cold. I have never heard of a dog having a cold. But he is breathing like he is plugged up and seems kind of mopy - Send him good thoughts please. Thanks for stopping by today. ARTYAL - Hugs j
Hmmm, if it won' eat chicken soup, are you sure it's a dog? Every dog I've ever had would eat just about any people food we had, except for olives and oysters. Olives were to play with and oysters were to avoid. In fact, my Shih Tzuh ate an oyster once. He didn't know what he was getting until he had already swallowed it. And then he proceeded to get rid of it immediately. One of the funniest things I ever saw, even if it was pretty gross. Never tried an oytser with my Rottie. I suspect he would just eat it and ask for more. Actually have to be pretty careful with him because he will eat anything, even stuff that isn't good for him.
And yes, dogs can definitely get a virus. But normally they have to be around other dogs to get it. I had never given my dogs the vaccine for kennel cough until my first Rottie got it. Since then, that is a regular part of the regime. The don't give them a shot for it. It is a vial of liquid they squirt up their nose. I worried that my first Rottie would take off the arm of the vet, but it was never a problem. They surely do shake their head afterwards, though.

If it doesn't clear up, he should probably go to the vet.
I'll say a prayer for him, and Smokey sends slurps.
Give Bailey a good scratch for me.
Bummer - keep him inside and snuggle up with him - a good dose of TLC might cure him!
poor pooch
yes, pups get colds. I remember our dog having a few of them
Damned hard to get em to eat the chicken soup though.
