This was my first self-assigned photo shoot since surgery on my shoulder and it was freeing to get out and about and create images I had planned in my head. These wind generators are part of 100 new ones that have been installed recently between Colo and Zearing, and they are spectacular! To get these shots meant arising at 5 AM, driving over there, after a McDonads breakfast stop that is, and then waiting for the sun and sky to work its magic. By driving around on gravel roads within about a ten square mile area I was able to find groupings I liked, and the best of the many images I created that cold morning are shown here. Enjoy them from the warmth of your location, but if you want to see the real thing....you now know where to find them.
Thanks Bob. They are truly spectacular. Craig and I drove around over there on the way back from a meeting at the Tama Casino and saw them. They are impressive. They weren't even up yet. Then Kurt and I saw them at night with their red lights flashing on our way back from Cedar Rapids. Thanks again for sharing. Welcome Back!
