Wordzzle -

Raven is posting these on Friday Nights from now on so this is my offering for this week. Go here to read the guidelines.
The Ten Word Challenge will be: galaxy, delta, redecorate, dearth, offshoot, Uthar Pendragon, cordial, gingerbread, foretold, bonnet
And for the Mini Challenge: palliate, functionality, jungle, brass, asphyxiate

It has been foretold that the world will be renewed when Uthar Pendragon returns from a galaxy far far away with his pet salamanders. However the functionality of that prediction is probably suspect as there is a dearth of genuine soothsayers abounding in this area of the world.

The pet salamanders are existing this week on a diet of gingerbread and Country Pate w/Cherry Cordial at $10.99 for 8 ounces. (Keep that price under your bonnet, as Uthar doesn’t want his accountant to know what he spends on salamander food. After all, it might asphyxiate him.) They have been very cordial, of late and have not set fire to anything, which require that Uthar redecorate their quarters. He is grateful for that as he just spent a great deal of money on the jungle wallpaper to make it seem homier to them.

Now I do not want to palliate Uthar’s spending of a great deal of money on his little amphibians but he does have a brass door knocker on their quarters and is thinking of moving to the Delta (lower Mississippi) in order to provide them with more functionality in their environment which will prove to the world that he is an offshoot of the Great Pendragon and not just some salamander keeper from Poughkeepsie.

A salamander keeper in Poughkeepsie. Very nice. It made me think of the French Connection and Gene Hackman. (I hear he's fond of salamanders as well)

Okay, that is excellent, plus I am actually from Poughkeepsie.

And those salamanders do seem to have quite the life-gourmet food, jungle wallpaper-lucky amphibians!
