Eastern Star Home Party

The Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone is decorated beautifully for the Holiday Season. Today was the annual Grand Officer Holiday visit and also the Home Board Meeting.

Grand Officers and Board Members gather for the meeting.

A tour was taken of the proposed changes in the Health Care Facility. These changes will make it more "home like for the residents."
We eat in the dining room with the residents.
These ladies ate at my table. Evelyn (standing) was a retired school teacher so we talked about education. Carol (seated) is 96 years old. She has lived here for 11 years and kept us laughing with jokes. She told me she was a raconteur and indeed she was. She told me that she had been taught that you should learn something new and laugh every day. We had a wonderful time with them.
The food was good and everyone had a wonderful time and we had a good Board meeting besides.
