A Trip to Clarion

Five Brothers from Arcadia Lodge went to Clarion, Iowa tonight to attend the Installation of Officers of Cyrene Lodge #325. When we left Ames we had no idea that we would be the installing team. Oliver Boyington is a dual member and a Past Master of Arcadia and he generally makes it down to our meeting. He was being installed as Master and had invited us to come. Because of an ice and snow storm the Brothers originally slated to do the Installation didn't make it, so we were asked to do it. That is me on the left, I had the honor of being the Installing Master. Next to me is Dave Baker. He was Installing Chaplain. In the center is Worshipful Master Boyington. Next is Bill Yungclas who was Installing Marshal and Doug Petty who was Installing Secretary. Marty Jacobs also went with us. Oliver was pleased that we would step in at the last minute and help him out and we were glad to do it.
Oliver as he listens to the interminable list of questions which he must answer.

I had to take a close-up of the tie. It won the prize. Click on the picture of the tie or here to be taken to the photo gallery of all the pictures.

This is another example of why I love Freemasonry. The fellowship on the drive up was excellent and the lunch and meeting were also excellent.

Thanks Oliver for asking us and we had a really good time.

Hugs, j
