Ames First Snow Closeups - Photos by Bob Kelly

Ames, Iowa received its first measurable snowfall of the season on Saturday morning, December 11, 2010. It snowed for about an hour or two, then stopped, however it is to resume with much fury later on Saturday evening and into Sunday. A year ago on this date we had nearly 20 inches of snow on the ground for a series of snowstorms, so we have escaped it all, that is until now.

I went out and looked for evidence of the snow closeup and found these scenes. The tiny crystals bring additional beauty to whatever attracts them. Enjoy....sort of!
