Christmas morning in Ames, Iowa - Photos by Bob Kelly

Mother nature gave us a gift this Christmas morning in the form of 7+ inches of new, soft snow.  About 9:00 this morning, I went out and walked around in my neighborhood and it was cold but not oppressive, and the snow was fluffy and sparkling while the air was filled with an incredible soft quiet sound.  These are some pics of things that caught my eye!   I hope you are having or did have a Merry Christmas wherever you may be!

Yes, it is beautiful to look at, even first had. But it's not so beautiful when viewed from the handle end of a shovel, even if that "shovel" has a motor and rotating parts that do most of the heavy lifting for you. It is even less beautiful when viewed from the inside of a vehicle without traction. Luckily, I only ot to see the first of those two, but some have not been so lucky.
