From my perspective as a nature photographer, the Tiger Swallowtail is the "big game" of the butterfly realm in Iowa, as it is one of the largest ones we have, and I think the most beautiful. This lovely specimen was photographed in Wakefield Woods, a Story County park just north of the National Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa."

i remember this butterfly; it was one of the few i could name by sight.
