A beautiful Iowa Day

The sky overhead was very beautiful as I drove to Des Moines for lunch with Shane.
I love looking at downtown Des Moines as I drive down 5th Avenue.

The Court Avenue area of Des Moines is presided over by this grand old court house and I really like the district. My favorite place to eat there is currently Dos Rios.

Eating outside on the patio is very pleasant and enjoyable. The music was a little loud but not so bad that we could not hear ourselves. We think this would be a good place for one of our Specialis Procer Festive Boards.
We each had the two taco lunch and added an extra taco. I also had a "cup" of soup. Chicken tortilla. It was yummy. No supper for me tonight. They serve 14 hands Cabernet Sauvignon so I had a glass. In case you did not know it is my favorite wine.
I snapped this picture of Iowa's Golden Dome as I left to come home. The only bad spot of the day was the fact that I got an overtime parking ticket. The meter did not allow me more that two hours and I was about 5 minutes longer. Oh well - it was well worth it. Thanks for stopping by. I noticed that my numbers are dropping down to more of a "normal" count. I appreciate having been a "Blog of Note" but my notoriety must be waning. ARTYAL. Hugs, j-bear

Belated congratulations on your Blog of Note-hood. It was kind of fun but I'm glad it only lasted a week.

Lovely photos. I love how little traffic there is even in the city. My kind of town.

What I want to see is a Iowa Thunderstorm; one of those monster clouds 'on the way' dark and angry green.
Oh how I miss thunderstorms!

Just look at that sky...gorgeous day. I'm a Shiraz fan, but I love a good Chilean Cab!
