Grand Master's Area Education Meeting

Tonight I attended (along with seven others from Arcadia Lodge) the Grand Master's Area Education Meeting in Nevada. This is a meeting designed to educate and "fire up" the craft with the program of the new Grand Master (M.W. Donald L. Mosier, picture shamelessly stoled from his web site.). There are 12 of these events held all over the state and it was a very interesting well attended meeting.

The focus was on Masonic Pride, Education and Managed Change.

In Managed Change we must plan, prepare, implement and adjust for change which is unavoidable. Using strategic planning as an ongoing process we can continue to improve our Lodges and grow Masonry.

The Grand Master spoke about how proficiency must be more than just studying the words of the ritual. He said that history and jurisprudence used to be a part of the education of District Lecturers and Masonic Instructors.

Every one in attendance was given a packet of materials to use including pocket petitions and other material assist when people ask us that all important question. "How can I become a Mason?"

All in all it was an excellent evening and our new Grand Master finished it off with short presentations on apathy and Hope Lodge.
