Blood Drive at Arcadia Lodge

David Baker, Senior Warden of Arcadia Lodge has made arrangements for the Lodge to host the Iowa Blood Center at Arcadia Lodge for a community Blood Drive. I went out to take some pictures.

They bring a truck load of material for the drive. Actually they do everything and some of us were just there as a resource to help out as necessary.
Marty Jacobs, Junior Warden helped unload the truck.
They set things up and were ready for people in no time at all.

Marty was the first to give blood. He survived.

Before you give blood you have to read some material and fill out a history and there is an interview. It doesn't take very long and then you give the blood.
This is Past Master Doug Petty filling out his form and then relaxed and ready.
I told him I was going to entitle the picture below "relaxing on the river."
Doug also gave an impersonation of Count Dracula
We will have these events every other month through 2010. It will be nice as there is no other Blood Drive in Ames and this will be a service to the community.
