
Our misplaced Painted Bunting that is all alone in the midwest came back to Ames.....guess he likes it here! I shot these Sunday at the house of a friend and loved doing so. Wow, what a beautiful bird. What types of seed do they eat? What do they look for in a habitat? I'd love to attract them to my backyard. So far, I have goldfinches, cardinals, red-headed woodpeckers, orioles, and blue jays living in my neighborhood. The Painted Bunting would be the crown jewel, as it should be for Ames!
